In the past I have quietly taken photos for several other families who knew their fur baby had only a short time left with them. Bella, Stella, Dakota and Madi to name a few. If you know me, you also know that I have a soft spot for senior dogs. We have adopted Oliver, Jax and Tanner all as seniors. Sadly in the last three years we have also lost Jax, Tanner and Elroy. We know and understand this pain far too well. These are not just dog....they are family.
I am proud to share #projectgooddog. I will continue to provide photography for families like these free of charge. All I ask is that you make a donation to a local rescue. My rescue of choice is Manitoba Great Pyrenees Rescue. I will also share your dog's story online as part of my project (with your permission of course). The session will include high res digital files (of my choice) fully retouched.
If you know someone who has made the difficult decision to help their dog pass, or is medically terminal, feel free to pass this on to them. I cannot guarantee how many I will be able to do, but I will try my best. And yes, I will cry. I may even hug (and I am not a hugger), but I get it.
"No longer by my side, Forever in my Heart. We will meet at Rainbow Bridge and never be apart".
The name of the project is in honor of my boy Elroy. He was a troubled dog. In his final moments my husband said over and over to him. "you are a good dog...you are a good dog". This I will never forget.
Please note that locations of these sessions are limited to my studio in St Boniface or a park in St Vital as I have to put a limit on travel time.
Brandon area residence: Mandy Wark Photography will now be covering this area of Manitoba as part of #projectgooddog with her rescue of choice being Funds For Furry Friends (where Elroy came from).
